An interdisciplinary team of 22 students - comprised of majors in marketing, graphic design, web development and media communication - competed in the regional round of the 2016 National Student Advertising Competition, earning the top-three finish against nine other colleges and universities from Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Roger Williams University graduate architecture student Brad Postian was recently honored with the 2016 Robert Bradford Newman Student Medal for Merit in Architectural Acoustics for his project, "Acoustical Analysis of the West Side City Hall in Providence, RI."

In March, a group of students from Roger Williams University led the school's first Stay Break - a new program that mirrors the immersive, week-long service learning experience of alternative spring break trips abroad but allows students to stay on campus and serve nonprofits in nearby communities.

The Roger Williams University Engineers Without Borders student club traveled deep into the mountains of northern Dominican Republic during Spring Break to provide a design solution for a serious public health issue.

Students from Roger Williams University headed to Hispaniola - the Caribbean island home to Haiti and the Dominican Republic - in early January for a two-week study abroad session in which they lived with local families and learned how the island's history has shaped its current political, social and economic climate.
